Anthony Blokdijk, born in The Hague (NL, 1964), Indo-Dutch descent. Becomes involved in the Dutch punk rock scene (1977). Studied Cultural Work (1982 – 1984). Starts painting (1985). Co-initiator of the Maldoror Foundation (1987 – 2024). Sets up the media library of the Nola Hatterman art academy in Paramaribo, Suriname (2006-2007). Organizes art projects in psychiatry (2010 – current). Works as a book assistant at West Den Haag (2021 – current).
Ever since Blokdijk founded the music group and associated magazine Art In Revolution at the age of fourteen, he aspired to make art/history. As a self-taught artist, he has four pillars: curating, music, painting and publishing.
